Description of Project: This stately townhouse belonged originally to the two sisters Gravenhorst, who sold their residence to the Shell company. In the mid fifties the premises were donated to the Salvation Army and was used as a seamen's home up to the end of the seventies. After this period the Eilandgebied Curaçao became the owner and commissioned AOB Architects in 1988 to execute an extensive restoration to make the building suitable for the head office of Sociaal Economisch Planbureau. AOB Architects has been careful to preserve the authentic architecture of the elevations whilst at the same time renovating the inside of the building to an up to date office area. | |
Extent of Services: Architectural, structural and detailed design working drawings, tender and contract documents, project management and daily site supervision. |
