| Description of Project: Due to the successful growth of Mr. P.V. Sjiem Fat's law practice, it was decided that a more spacious and centrally located office was necessary. A plot of land was acquired almost in the center of Oranjestad, and given the favorable location, it was decided to use the costly ground floor area for shops. AOB was commissioned to design a three storey building, housing on the ground floor shops, and the other floors to serve as office space. Because of the building free standing and prominent location, particular attention was given to the front elevation, which radiates a contemporary approach to the old Dutch stepped gable. | |
